• The Tramontina pressure cooker is completely safe, provided that you follow
the instructions in this manual;
• Always observe the maximum water level marked on the inside of the
pressure cooker (Observe marking - max. level - Page 16, Fig. 3);
• When cooking foods that expand during cooking, such as rice or beans,
do not fill the pressure cooker more than half full. Overfilling the pressure
cooker may cause clogging, allowing excess pressure to build up. Be
sure to read "How to Safely Use your Pressure Cooker" on page 16, item 5;
• Foods that tend to become frothy or foamy, such as apple sauce,
cranberries, pasta, barley, oatmeal and other grains, should not be
cooked in the pressure cooker as they can block pressure from being
released (steam vents);
• Always check that the working valve and the safety valve are clear and
not blocked before use. (page 19, fig. 15);
• Whenever the silicone ring, metal filter or safety valve is removed for
cleaning, be sure to reassemble them in the correct positions afterwards;
• Do not use the pressure cooker for frying with oil because it does not
create inside pressure;
• IMPROPER USE OF A PRESSURE COOKER CAN CAUSE
SERIOUS INJURY.
Reduce the heat when steam begins to be released by the working
valve. This allows for greater energy savings.
5 - How to Safely Use Your Pressure Cooker
• Always make sure there is
enough liquid to produce
steam during cooking, but
never exceed the maximum
amount of water and food
as indicated on the pressure
cooker (as shown in the adjacent picture);

• Be sure that the safety valve and the inside of the working valve are clean.
• Do not fill the pressure cooker more than 2/3 full when cooking foods such
as rice, grains and beans. For foods that are mostly liquid, such as soups,
never fill the pressure cooker more than 1/3 full. If the pressure cooker is
overfilled, the safety valves may become blocked or clogged, compromising
the safety system.
• To close the pressure cooker, make sure that the arrow located on the lid is
lined up with the arrow located on the handle. Place the lid on the pressure
cooker body and turn it clockwise until the handles are aligned. This will
indicate that the pressure cooker is securely closed (figs. 4 to 6);
• If the lid is not securely closed, the safety valve button will not operate and
there will be no pressure Inside the pressure cooker. Therefore, make sure
that the lid is properly secured.
• IMPORTANT: To prevent accidents when handling the pressure cooker, always
hold it by both handles, regardless of whether it is hot or cold (fig. 7).
• W hen using a gas stove, the pressure cooker should be well-centered
on the burner so that the flame does not reach the sides and handles.
• When using an electric stove or vitroceramic cooktop, be sure that the
surface is flat for uniform heat transfer and distribution.
