Sharpening the cutting blades

With worn out cutting blades, you get poor cut
quality. Sharpening should occur when the cutting
edge is worn out and the material is not being
drawn into the cutting set. To sharpen the knives
follow the steps described below, as shown in
Figure 11:
1. Remove the upper inlet funnel (1).
2. Remove the access cover to the blades (2).
3. Rotate the disc (3) with hands until the blades (5)
are in the service port (4).
4. Loosen the screws that secure the cutting blade
and remove.
5. Turn the disc (3) until the next cutting blade and
repeat the previous instruction.
6. Sharp the blade, taking care to remove the
same amount of material in each sheet to avoid
compromising the balancing of the disc set and
cause consequently vibrations.
7. After sharpening the cutting blades, tighten them
again by torquing the screw to 41 Nm, then rotate
the blade and check if the distance between the
knife and the counter knife are within the specified
3 mm dimension. With the correct knife and
counter knife distance, proceed with the removed
items assembly to remove the knives.

Attention!
The cutting blades should be replaced
when it is no longer possible a perfect
sharpening.
Adding shims on the counter blade
As the knives are sharpened, it is possible to add these
chocks between the counter knife and the crusher
body to compensate for the distance between knife
and conter knife, lost in sharpening.
Shims (1) can be used separately or together,
removing the funnel side entrance and slightly
loosening the nuts (2) of the counter-blade and
inserting them between the body and the counter-
blade, according to the direction indicated in the
drawing below, in Figure 12.
