Asennusohjeet:
1.)
Vetokoukkua asennettaessa on irrotettava konsoli, joka pitää lambdasondin kaapelia irti ohjausakselista, sekä
irrotettava kaapelinpidikejouset, jotta se voidaan painaa suojapeltiä vasten jälleen oikealle etäisyydelle
ohjausakselista. Asentakaa suojapelti (vain ajoneuvoissa n. 7/96 asti).
2.)
Irrottakaa takapuskuri ajoneuvosta.
3.)
Irrottakaa peräpelti (vain malleissa CL-GL) (5 ruuvia). Lisäksi täytyy pyöräkotelossa porata irti 2 popniittiä
vasemmalla ja 2 oikealla puolella (liitos pyöräkotelon kuoreen). Peräpelti voidaan poistaa paikaltaan.
4.)
Irrottakaa poikittaispalkki (4 mutteria).
5.)
Irrottakaa pakosarjan takaripustus sekä irrottakaa lämpösuojapelti. Painakaa pakosarja ja lämpösuojalevy
alas.
6.)
Leikatkaa peräpeltiin stanssatut syvennykset irti siten, että syvennysten sisäänpäin stanssatut kaulat jäävät
paikalleen (kts. piirros).
7.)
Poratkaa peräpeltiin reikä 175mm keskikohdasta oikealle ja Z 120mm kaapelin läpivientiä varten (alue
merkitty pisterasterilla).
8.)
Leikatkaa/sahatkaa peräpeltiin (kts. piirros) halkaisijaltaan Ø 80 mm:n reikä mallineen mukaan. Suojatkaa
reiän reunat suojanauhalla.
9.)
Puskurin sisäpuolella GT-mallissa on keskivaiheilla valmiiksimerkitty Ø 80 mm:n alue. Leikatkaa tai sahatkaa
tämä alue irti.
Huomio: Pyöristäkää kaikkien leikattujen aukkojen reunat ja suojatkaa ne korroosiota vastaan VW:n
ohdeiden mukaisesti. Imuroikaa mahdolliset metallilastut pois.
10.) asentakaa sähkötarvikesarja, vetäkää kaapelit sähkörasiaan ja asettakaa kumihylsy paikalleen.
11.) Sijottakaa vahvikelevyt vasemmalle (3) ja oikealle (4) pitkittäispalkkeihin.
12.) Pujottakaa tiivisteet (7) vetokoukun (1) asennusvarsiin.
13.) Työntäkää vetokoukun (1) asennusvarret korin sisään siten että sivuttaiset kiinnitysreiät osuvat juotospulttien
kohdalle. Kiinnittäkää vahvikelevyt vasemmalla (5) ja oikealla (6) alhaalta pitkittäispalkkiin
löysästi M10 x 38 -pultein kiinni.
14.) Siirtäkää poikittaispalkki kiinni juotettujen pulttien päälle ja ruuvatkaa löysästi kiinni aiemmin irrotetuin M8-
mutterein.
15.) Suoristakaa vetokoukku ja kiristäkää mutterit ja pultit.

16.) Tiivistäkää vetokoukun pitkittäisputket tiivistevaahdolla (8)
17.) Kiinnittäkää lämpösuojalevy ja pakosarjan ripustus jälleen paikalleen.
18.) Malleissa CL ja GL asetakaa peräpelti vetokoukun yläpuolelle ja kiinnittäkää se ruuvein.
19.) Kiinnittäkää puskuri jälleen paikalleen ajoneuvoon.
20.) GT-malleissa asettakaa puskuri vetokoukun yläpuolelle ja kiinnittäkää ajoneuvoon.
21.) Kiinnittäkää sähkörasian pidike nuppitangon viereen kahdella M6 x 20 -pultilla ja kahdella
22.) Yhdistäkää virtapiiri Sähkörasiaan rasiapidikkeessä.

Installation instructions:
1.)
When mounting the towing bracket, the holder which holds the cable of the lambda sensor out of the way of
the drive shaft must be removed and the cable clip taken off and pushed onto the shield, so that it can still
keep the lambda sensor away from the drive shaft. Mount the shield (for vehicles up to approx. 7/96 only).
2.)
Remove the rear bumper from the vehicle.
3.)
Unscrew the 5 screws from the rear apron (on CL and GL models only). Drill out the pop rivets in the wheel
houses (2 left and 2 right), which connect the rear apron to the plastic wheel house protectors. The rear apron
can now be removed.
4.)
Unscrew the frame cross member (4 nuts).
5.)
Unscrew the mounting of the rear exhaust pipe bracket and remove the mounting of the heat shield. Push
down the exhaust pipe and heat shield.
6.)
Saw out the recesses stamped into the rear apron in such a way that the collar that faces inwards remains
attached (see sketch).
7.)
Drill a hole in the rear apron, 175 mm to the right of centre and 120 mm along the Z axis, for the cable gland
(position prick-punched).
8.)
Saw or cut out a Ø 80 mm hole in the rear apron (see sketch) following the template. Mask the edge of the
cutout with an edge protector strip.
9.)
On GT models, there is a marked area (Ø 80 mm) on the inside of the bumper in the middle. Cut or saw out
this area.
Note:
Deburr all cuts in sheet-metal parts and protect them against corrosion in accordance with the guidelines
specified by VW. Suck up any swarf there may be with a vacuum cleaner.
10.) Fit the electrical accessories, pull through the wiring harness for the socket holder and insert the rubber
grommet.
11.) Insert reinforcement plates (3 - left) and (4 - right) into the frame side members.
12.) Push gaskets (7) onto the side arms of the towing bracket.

13.) Push towing bracket (1) into the body; while doing so, push the side mounting onto the weld bolt. Hold
reinforcement plates (5 - left) and (6 - right) beneath the side arms and bolt them loosely using M10x38 bolts.
14.) Push the frame cross member onto the weld bolt and bolt loosely using the M 8 nuts removed beforehand.
15.) Align the towing bracket and tighten.
Tightening torque:
16.) Seal the side arms of the towing bracket with foam plugs (8).
17.) Refit the heat shield and exhaust pipe bracket.
18.) On CL and GL models, guide the rear apron over the towbar and bolt it to the vehicle again.
19.) Refit the bumper and bolt it to the vehicle.
20.) On GT models, guide the bumper over the towbar and bolt it to the vehicle.
21.) Bolt socket holder (2) to the side of the towbar using 2 M6x20 bolts and 2 M6 nuts.
22.) Fit the electrical equipment, including the socket and socket holder.
