not been connected to the

4. Turn
the
voltage
switch (3) to the position "12 V"
or "24 V".
5. Set selector switch (2) to
Normal
F Selector switch must not be in
another position!
6. Insert mains plug.
7. Switch on main switch (4).
8. Continuously monitor the char-
ging current on the
ammeter (1).
F The charging process must
be terminated as soon as the
charge current remains con-
stant or as soon as the battery
begins to produce gas !
After the end of charging:
9. Switch off main switch (4).
10. Pull out the mains plug.
11. Remove the charging clips from
the battery.
Rapid charging
F Rapid charging may only be
carried out on a tested battery
which is in perfect condition.
F There is a risk of destroying
the battery due to overchar-
ging.
In this operating mode, there-
fore, the charging process
must always be monitored
and manually ended imme-
diately after the charging
period!
Rapid charging is carried out as des-
cribed under normal charging.
However, after charging begins the
selector switch (2) is switched over
to
Rapid/Start
5 Starting aid
1. Switch off main switch (4).
2. Pull out the mains plug.
3. Securely connect the charging
clips to the battery, ensuring that
the polarity is correct:
– red clip to positive terminal
– black clip to negative terminal

F Make sure that the charging
clips are attached securely.
4. Set voltage selector switch (3) to
selector
position „12 V" or „24 V".
5. Set selector switch (2) to
Normal
6. Switch on main switch (4).
7. Insert mains plug.
After 5 ... 10 minutes: .
8. Set selector switch (2) to
Rapid/Start
F The maximum current is
applied when the charger is
switched on.
Therefore, the charger may
only be switched on immedia-
tely before the starting pro-
cess and must be switched
off immediately after the star-
ting process.
9. Start the engine
F Starting aid may only be given
for a max. 1 minute! Then
observe a cooling–down pe-
riod of approx. 25 minutes!
10. Switch off main switch (4).
11. Pull out the mains plug.
12. Remove the charging clips from
the battery.

7 Faults
Charger does not
function after switching on:
1. Switch off main switch (4).
2. Pull out the mains plug.
3. Check the mains connection.
4. Check the mains fuse:
5. Check polarity:
– Red clip to positive terminal
– Black clip to negative terminal
6. Check that the charging clips
are securely attached.
7. Check the rated battery voltage.
The charger must be checked by the
after-sales service if it still does not
function.
