• Connect the breathing hose according to fig. 4.
3.2 Donning
See also the user instructions for fan unit SR 500/SR 700 whi-
chever is used.
• Grip both sides of the hood opening with your hands. Draw the
hood carefully over your head. Fig. 5, 6.
• Adjust the hood's neck seal using the elastic neck strap. Fig. 7.

• Adjust the hood so that it fits closely and comfortably.
• If necessary, adjust the head harness. There are a lot of
adjustment options, see Fig. 8. To adjust the head harness
easier, remove the head harness from the hood, see 4.4.2
To change the head harness.
Height adjustment.
A - how deep the head end up in the head part.
B - how high the hood sits on the head.
Angle adjustment between visor and head harness.
C - the angle against the visor. Adjust if the face is too close
to the visor.
D - adjustment of the angle of the headband around the back
of the head.
Width adjustment of the head harness.
E - rough adjustment of the width of the head harness.
F - the width of the head harness.
• If necessary, adjust the distance from the visor to the face.

• Check and adjust so that the breathing hose runs along your
back and that it is not twisted. Fig. 10.
Airflow deflector
• The airflow can be directed towards visor or face for optimal
comfort. Fig. 11.
3.3 Doffing
Do not take off the equipment until clear of the hazardous area.

• Slacken the neck strap (SR 602). In emergency situations, the
hood can be taken off with the neck seal tightened.
4. Maintenance
The person who is responsible for cleaning and maintenance of
the equipment must have received suitable training and be well
acquainted with work of this type.
4.1 Cleaning
Sundström cleaning tissues SR 5226 are recommended for daily
care. If the equipment is more heavily soiled, use a soft brush
or sponge moistened with a solution of water and dishwashing
detergent or the like. Rinse the equipment and leave it to dry.
If necessary, spray the hood with 70 % ethanol or isopropanol
solution for disinfection.
NOTE! Never use a solvent for cleaning.
4.2 Storage
After cleaning, store the equipment in a clean and dry place at
room temperature. Avoid exposing it to direct sunlight or other
heat sources.
4.3 Maintenance schedule
Recommended minimum requirements on maintenance routines
so you will be certain that the equipment will always be in usable
condition.

4.4 Change parts
Always use genuine Sundström parts. Do not modify the equipment.
The use of non-genuine parts or modification of the equipment
may reduce the protective function and put at risk the approvals
received by the product.
4.4.1 To change the sweatband

• Remove the head harness from the hood by releasing the
three fixing points. Fig 18.
• Remove the sweatband.
• Push in the head harness tongue into the new sweatband.

• Fit the sweatband into the head harness spikes. Fig. 14.
• Fold the sweatband around the bandeau of the head harness
and fit the spikes in the holes. Fig 15.
• Secure the two loose sockets of the sweatband onto the head

4.4.2 To change the head harness
• Remove the head harness from the hood by releasing the three
fixing points. Fig 18.
• Fit a new sweatband, see 4.4.1 To change the sweatband.
• Secure the both fixing points of the head harness on the sides.

• Check that the head harness is locked in the fixing points of the
hood.
• Adjust the head harness according to the instructions in section

4.4.3 To change the hood
• Pull up the rear part of the hood at the air-duct. Fig. 21.

• Remove the hood from the air-duct by releasing the two fixing

• Pull off the hood from the head harness and air-duct. Fig. 24.
• Fit the head harness and air-duct into the new hood. Fig. 25.
• Pull down the rear part of the hood over the air-duct. Fig. 26.
• Fit the hood into the two fixing grooves on the air-duct. Fig. 27.
• Check that the air-duct´s front locking pin is in the correct posi-
