FilterBoxes with air cleaning unit
The air cleaning unit consists of a solenoid valve
mounted on a tube which leads the air pulses into
the filter cartridge of the FilterBox.
Installation
To get the best results from the Filterbox in welding
processes, Nederman 529 - fan is recommended
together with Nederman Fume Extractor. The air
cleaning unit shall be connected to compressed air.
Recommended pressure = 5 - 8 bar. Connection =
1/2". A stop valve should be mounted on the
compressed air pipe line.
Instructions for use
In welding processes cleaning 2 - 3 times a day is
recommended. Air cleaning and mechanical cleaning
of the filter cartridge will start at the same time.
Directions for use
The Filterbox separates air pollutions like welding smoke,
metal oxides, talcum, lime, colour powder and grinding
dust. Gases are not separated. When moving a Filterbox
on trolley, it should be pushed forwards (not pulled) with
the handles on the side of the box.

Risk of personal injury!
If the Filterbox is a fixed unit and used to
separate fumes that may be a health hazard such
as beryllium, cadmium, lead or asbestos, in some
countries the purified air may not be recycled in the
workshop.
Risk of fire and explosion!
Do not use the Filterbox for inflammable or
explosive dust/gases.
Cleaning the filter cartridge
In order to achieve the greatest degree of separation,
the filter cartridge must be cleaned regularly. This should
be done when suction through the filter decreases.
This usually occurs 1 - 2 times a day.
The filter cartridge should be cleaned in one of the
following two ways (1 a - b or 2 a - b):
1 a. Close the damper in the hood of the extractor arm.
1 b. Push the button S2 on the control board. The
cleaning process begins and continues for approximately
3 minutes. The light emission diode E indicates fixed
green light. When the cleaning is finnished the fan
starts automatically.

2 a. Close the damper in the hood of the extractor arm.
2 b. Stop the fan with the button S1 or with the switch on
the hood of the extractor arm. Push the button S2. The
cleaning process begins and continues for approximately
3 minutes. The light emission diode E indicates fixed
green light. When the cleaning is finnished the fan must
be started with the button S1 or from the hood of the
extractor arm.
Replacing the filter cartridge
The filter cartridge may be replaced (see picture, page 3).
It should be replaced if the outer surface is damaged or if
the air flow through the FilterBox is insufficient due to
saturation of the filter element despite repeated cleaning.
A. Shut the Filterbox off.
B. Loosen the end cover and turn the handle in the
direction of arrow.
C. Take out the filter cartridge. For hygienic handling, the
cartridge should be enclosed in a plastic bag. Clean the
bearing surfaces inside the Filterbox.
D. Handle the new filter cartridge carefully to avoid
damage by sharp objects. Check that the V-rings
(c and d) are in their position (see page 3). Fit the nylon
bearing (e) in the rebate inside the FilterBox and fix it
with silicon sealant. Note that the silicon sealant has
to dry for about 24 hours before the filter cartridge
can be rotated.
E. Insert the new filter cartridge. Remount the end cover
and fasten the handle in the right position.
Emptying the receptable
During the cleaning process the filter cartridge rotates
against four cleaning springs. These clean the filter
carefully and effectively. The dust falls into the recep-tacle
under the filter. It holds 10 litres and is easily removed for
emptying. Use a plastic bag in the receptacle for collecting
the impurities.

the product).
• Detail no. of the spare part and the name
