2 SAFETY WARNINGS

2.1 Warnings for users

Prepare the location where the appliance
will be installed in compliance with local,
national and European regulations.
The appliance is a heating product and
consequently has very hot external sur-
faces. For this reason, maximum cau-
tion is recommended during operation.
Specifically:
• do not touch or get too close to the
glass door: may cause serious burns
• do not touch any part of the stove
• do not perform any type of cleaning
• do not remove ashes
• keep children well away from the
appliance.
Observe the instructions provided in this manual.
Observe the instructions and warnings highlight-
ed by the pictograms displayed on the product.
The pictograms are safety warnings and must
always be perfectly legible. If they become
damaged and illegible, they must be replaced.
You can order pictograms as original spare parts
from the manufacturer.
Only use fuel that matches the specifications
provided in the section detailing the character-
istics of the fuel.
Strictly observe the routine and special mainte-
nance programmes for the stove and system.
In the event of abnormal operation, suspect-

Do not lean on the open door during cleaning
operations: this could cause the door to break
and/or may compromise the stability of the
appliance.
Do not use the appliance as a support or anchor
in any way whatsoever.
Do not clean the appliance until the structure
and the ashes have completely cooled down.
Perform all operations calmly and in complete
safety.
If the chimney catches fire, try to put out the fire
in the appliance by using the adjustment handle
to close all the combustive air. Call emergency
services immediately.
Do not use the appliance as a waste incinerator.
Only use the recommended fuel.
If the appliance malfunctions because of a
non-optimal flue draft, clean it in compliance
with the procedure described in paragraph 4.3
by contacting qualified personnel.
The chimney must be cleaned at least once a
year or after every 4 tonnes of wood burnt.
Non-optimal flue draft may also be caused by
particularly adverse weather conditions (typically
low pressure or particularly windy areas): in this
case, heat the flue well by igniting it correctly
in compliance with the procedure described in
paragraph 5.2.
To avoid harming the eyes, do not stare directly
at the flame for an extended period of time.
Check that there is water in the expansion cham-
ber at regular intervals. If there is no water inside,
do not start the stove. Contact the service centre
or other trusted organisation.

3 FUEL CHARACTERISTICS

The appliance should preferably be fuelled with
well-seasoned beech/birch wood. Every type of
wood has different properties, which also affect
combustion efficiency.
Use of coniferous wood is not recom-
mended (pine-fir): such wood contains
large quantities of resinous substances
that quickly clog the flue.
