9.1. Replacing the nozzle set
and [7-6]
Every SATA nozzle set consists of "paint needle" [7-1], "air cap" [7-2]
and "fluid tip" [7-3] and has been hand-adjusted to provide a perfect
spray pattern. Lubricate both paint needle [7-1] in the paint needle area
(approx. 3 cm in front of the needle sleeve, paint needle spring) and ma-
terial flow control screw [1-11]. Therefore, always exchange the complete
nozzle set. After installation, please adjust material flow according to
chapter 7.2.
9.2. Replace paint needle seal
[8-3]
This must be replaced when material leaks from the self-adjusting paint
needle packing. Remove trigger guard after [8-2]. Check paint needle for
any signs of damage, replace nozzle set if necessary. Before removing
the trigger guard [8-2], the air micrometer has to be dismantled [9-1] –
[9-4]. After installation, adjust the material flow according to chapter 7.2.
9.3. Replacing the air piston, air piston spring and
air micrometer
• Disconnect spray gun from the compressed air circuit!
This must be exchanged if air is leaking from the air nozzle or the air
micrometer while the trigger is not pulled. After disassembly, grease air
micrometer shell with SATA gun lubricant (item no. 48173), insert with
air piston and tighten locking screw using original SATA combination tool
with max. 1 Nm. [9-1]. After installation, set material throughput according
to chapter 7.2.
• Check if locking screw has been firmly tightened! Air micrometer could
shoot out from the spray gun uncontrolled!
