Explanation:
10 bits (8 bits of byte 0, 2 bits of byte 1) for the integer digit and 2 bits (of byte 1)
for the decimal digit 2 ^ 10 => 1024 resolution in mm, i.e. this value indicates the
absolute value where the magnet is found in the taught-in range.
Example:
Process data 01 0110 1010 = 362 mm.
This means that if you have not performed teaching, the magnet is at 362 mm.
Ideally you should use the integrated Windows calculator.

The decimal place works slightly differently. You get the following states:
00 = xxx.00 mm,
01 = xxx.25 mm,
10 = xxx.50 mm,
11 = xxx.75 mm.
Combination: 01 0110 1010 (integer) = 362 mm
11 (decimal point) = .75 => 01 0110 1010 11 = 362.75 mm.

8 Care and maintenance

Damage to the surface caused by solvents and aggressive detergents
The surfaces and seals could be damaged by solvents or aggressive cleaning
agents.
Never use solvents or aggressive detergents.

The SM6-AL distance measuring sensor is maintenance-free.
1. Check the fittings and plug connections regularly.
2. Comply with the maintenance intervals and specifications for the entire sys-
tem.

9 Disposal

Dispose of the SM6-AL distance measuring sensor in accordance with the cur-
rently applicable regulations in your country.
