APPENDIX C.- MEASUREMENT OF THE VIDEO / AUDIO RATIO
It permits to measure the ratio between the video carrier and the audio carrier
amplitudes.
Although this process depends on the standard used, it is usual to consider
that a properly transmitted PAL channel should have a sound subcarrier 13 dB below
the video carrier.

These specifications ensure that there is no interference in the same or the
adjacent channel.
