Operation with Wall Mount
E
For work above the extendable height of the tripod, the
unit can be operated with the wall mount 33 (accessory,
order number 2 607 001 277).
Working with the remote control/re-
ceiver combination BLF 10 and the re-
mote control BLR 10 (accessory)
All functions of the BL 100 VHR can be remote control
operated with the remote control/receiver combination
BLF 10 and the BLR 10 remote control.
In addition:
The standard line can be widened or shortened in the
horizontal position.
The laser line can be led up or downwards in the ver-
tical position.
The leveling automatic can be switched off in order to
contour gradients.
Contouring Gradients
F
The leveling automatic must be switched off to contour
gradients. The unit can be set up in various inclined po-
sitions with the leveling automatic switched off. This al-
lows for any required inclination angle to be set.
To avoid faulty measurements in all other applications,
the leveling automatic can only be switched off with the
BLF 10 or BLR 10 remote control (accessory).
Practical example
To mark a sloped line e. g. against a wall, set up the unit
with the deflection prism 4 in the horizontal position; for
best results as close as possible to the lower end point
of the required line.
Align the unit in such a matter that the X and Y-axis run
exactly parallel to the wall.
Switch off the leveling automatic with the remote con-
trol 27 (accessory) and align the laser point with the up-
per point of the line, using the direction push-buttons of
the remote control 27.
Switching off the leveling automatic
The leveling automatic can only be switched off
via the remote control 27 (accessory). For this
briefly press the AUTO-OFF push-button of the
remote control 27. With the leveling automatic
switched off, the leveling indicators 13 and 11 go
out.
The laser beam can now be inclined horizontally
and vertically by ±10 % (±6°) with the arrow
push-buttons of the remote control 27.
Should this not be sufficient, simply change the
position of the unit.
Position changes of the unit during operation are
not detected by the unit when the leveling auto-
matic is switched off.

Levelling Accuracy
Influences on Accuracy
The largest influence is exerted by the ambient
temperature. Especially temperature differences
occuring from the ground upwards can refract the
laser beam.
The deviations are noticable at a distance of approx.
20 meters and can double or quadruple in comparison,
for distances of 100 meters.
Since the temperature gradient near the floor is the
greatest, a tripod should always be used when working
at distances over 20 m. In addition, the unit should al-
ways be set up in the middle of the working area.
Accuracy Check of the Unit
In addition to external influences, deviations can also be
caused by influences from the unit itself. For this reason,
the accuracy should be checked from time to time.
Procedure:
A free measuring path of 20 m is required.
A transit measurement on firm ground must be per-
formed over both X and Y axes (4 measurements).
Place the unit in the horizontal position on a firm, level
surface and switch it on.
After levelling, mark the laser point (center of the point)
against any position, for instance a wall.
Then turn the unit by approx. 90° without lifting it or
changing its height.
Now turn back the prism cap 1, re-level the spirit levels
and mark again. Repeat this procedure in two further
90° steps. Project the heights of all four measurements
onto the same wall point.
The maximum allowed deviation over 20 m is ±4 mm.
Subsequently the highest and lowest marking can only
be 8 mm apart. This deviation results from unit and ap-
plicational tolerances at the precision check.
Should the unit be outside this tolerance, it should be
taken to a Bosch Customer Service location.
