Wheels

If it is necessary to remove one of the wheels (e.g.
in order to repair them in case of puncture), proceed
as follows:
Front wheel:
1. Use a 7mm Allen key to remove the fork screw.
2. Remove the damaged wheel.
3. When the wheel has been repaired, follow the
reverse procedure.
Rear wheel:
1. Using a screw driver, remove the cover of the
hub.
2. Loosen the 4 screws with a 5 mm Allen Key on
the outside and a 13 mm hexagonal socket
wrench on the inside.
3. Use a 6 mm Allen Key to split the rim.
4. Remove the damaged wheel. When it has been
repaired, follow the reverse procedure.

Battery installation for the SAMBA wheelchair

First, remove all the parts from the
battery box and lean the chair
forward to its maximum to achieve
greater space for easier
installation.
Parts in the battery box:
• Supporting plate for rear
electric modules.
• Conical-shaped terminals for
batteries with cylindrical
terminals.
• Two installation cables.
The black plate has holes and is
designed to support special
controls in the future and to
support the batteries inside, to
prevent them from moving. It
should be placed between the two
batteries with the lateral spacer
placed on the floor, on the right
side if the control goes on the
right, and on the left if the control
goes on the left.
Connect the batteries with the
terminals opposing the centre of
the plate to avoid possible contact
with it. (Refer to Fig. 59-62)
CAUTION: Before connecting
the battery terminals it is very
important to connect together
the two connectors that join the
cables. This way, if one cable is
connected wrongly, it will produ-
ce a small spark indicating that
something is wrong.
CAUTION: Otherwise, if the
cables are connected first and
then the connectors together,
if there is a problem, the
installation will ignite, causing
major damage to the batteries.

How to connect the cables to the batteries

The red cable always goes to the
positive terminal (+) of one battery.
The black cable always goes to the
negative terminal (-) of the other
battery and one of the yellow
cables goes to the negative of one
battery and the other yellow cable
goes to the positive of the other
battery, linking both batteries
serially to give a supply of 24 volts.
It is better to direct the cable ter-
minals towards the interior of the
box to avoid risk of contact with
the outer box (Fig. 63+64).
