2.) General information

When used with a safety harness, the HSG Compact is used
exclusively for the safeguarding of persons exposed to the risk of a
fall during their work (e.g. on ladders, roofs, scaffolding etc.).
The energy absorber must always be attached to the body.
Function: The HSG Compact limits the force of a fall to below 6 kN.
Once the HSG Compact has been used to arrest an actual fall, it
must be withdrawn from use and destroyed. The annual inspection
must be carried out by a competent person in accordance with
DGUV Directive 312-906 (i.e. the national regulations for the
inspection of PPE). Attaching the HSG Compact (fig. 1):
1. Only clip the connector (1) into the attachment point of the safety
harness.
2. Attach the opposite connector (2) to a secure anchor point. The
HSG Compact (3) must not be obstructed and under no
circumstances laid over edges or around corners. The HSG Compact
lifelines must not be tied back.
When clipping into the anchor point, ensure that the carabiner is
properly secured into the attachment point of the harness. The
carabiner to the anchor point of the work platform should move freely
and not be subjected to cross-loading or loading over an edge.
Using two HSG Compact devices (2x I-Version, each with a shock
absorber) at the same time is strictly prohibited (table on page 6, line 9).
