susceptible to interference. For phantom-pow-
ered microphones, a 48 V phantom power can
be switched to the XLR input jack. As an output,
an XLR jack and a 6.3 mm jack which is also of
balanced design are provided.
A switchable limiter prevents the overload of
the following units by level limiting.
4 Connecting the Unit
Disconnect the MPA-104T from the voltage
supply, if connected, and switch off the units to
be connected before making or changing the
connections.
1) Connect a microphone to the XLR jack of
the jack INPUT (10); alternatively, connect a
musical instrument or the line output e. g. of
an effect unit to the 6.3 mm jack.
2) Connect the line input of the following unit
(e.g. amplifier, mixer) to the XLR jack or the
6.3 mm jack of OUTPUT (11). The two out-
put jacks are connected in parallel, i. e. when
one output is connected in an unbalanced
way, the signal at the other output is only
available in an unbalanced way as well.
3) Finally connect the low-voltage plug of the
supplied plug-in transformer to the jack
"9 V~" (12) and the transformer into a mains
socket (230 V~ /50 Hz). The LED POWER (2)
lights up. After a few seconds the tube is heat-
ed up and the amplifier ready for operation.
5 Operation
1) When
using
phantom-powered
phones, the phantom power (+48 V) must be
switched on. To prevent loud switching
noise, turn the control OUTPUT (5) to mini-
mum prior to each switching on or off. To
switch on, press in the button PHANTOM
POWER (6).
CAUTION!
If the phantom power is switched on, no
microphone with unbalanced output must
be connected, as this could be damaged.
2) Adjust the input amplification with the control
GAIN (1) and the switch GAIN (9). With the
switch engaged, the amplification is in-
creased by 20 dB. The LED PEAK (4) for
peak value indication may shortly light up
with the passages of highest volume. If it

tions which require the signal inversion of in-

If the button PHASE (8) is disengaged,
the input signal and the output signal are in
phase. To invert the phase of the output sig-
nal, press in the button.
In case of doubt, the optimum switch po-

way it is also possible to find the higher feed-
