4 Operation
4.1 Power supply
For power supply, two 1 5 V batteries of size AA
are required When the symbol
play flashes and the LED (2) lights up in red, the
batteries are discharged and should be replaced
•
Only insert batteries of the same type and
always replace both of them
•
If the microphone is not in use for a longer
period of time, always remove the batteries
as a precaution to prevent damage due to
battery leakage
1) To access the battery compartment (10), hold
the microphone head and screw off the screw
sleeve (4)
2) Open the battery holder (11), see fig 2 on
page 10
3) Insert the batteries with the positive and neg-
ative poles as indicated in the holder
4) Close the battery holder, then screw on the
screw sleeve
5) Instead of non-rechargeable batteries, it is
also possible to insert two rechargeable NiMH
(nickel-metal hydrate) batteries of size AA To
charge these batteries, the charging station
G3CH-2 is ideally suited: Leave the batteries
in the microphone and insert the microphone
into a charging slot Power is supplied via
the contacts (12) at the lower end of the
microphone
Never put batteries in the household
waste Always dispose of the batteries
in accordance with local regulations
4.2 Switching the microphone on / off,
indications on the display,
muting the microphone
1) To switch on the microphone, press the but-
ton
(5) or briefly slide the MUTE switch (3)
down and up The LED (2) shows green and
the backlight of the display (1) lights up for a
few seconds When you press a button, the
backlight is briefly switched on again
If the LED (2) lights up in red and if the
symbol
starts flashing on the display, the
batteries are discharged

3) To briefly mute the microphone (e g in
speech or music pauses), slide the MUTE
switch to the lower position: The LED (2) will
start flashing and the symbol

4.3 Settings
The microphone RU-G3TH / 5 can be set via a
menu (fig 1) or most conveniently from the
receiver RU-901G3 / 5 by means of the REMOSET
function (chapter 4 3 2): When the settings for
RU-G3TH / 5 have been made on the receiver,
they can be transferred to the microphone by
the press of a button
4.3.1 Settings via the menu
1) Keep the button SET (7) pressed for 2 seconds
until SEtUP is briefly shown on the display
(fig 1, page 10)
Transmission power: high (50 mW)
When the microphone is muted, it will
automatically be switched off after an
adjustable time
(preset time: 10 minutes)
