5. OUTPUTS
The AMI2-70/TR has a non amplified REC stereo output (21) with RCA connectors. The output
level is selectable (0dBV or +6dBV) with an internal jumper, see diagram.
The AMI2-70 has main amplified stereo low-impedance OUTPUTS (22, 23). Consult the technical
specifications.
The AMI2-70/TR integrates 2 professional audio 100V line transformers within its main amplified
stereo OUTPUTS (22, 23) (switchable to 70V, see diagram). Consult the technical specifications.
Set carefully the mixer general output level with OUTPUT VOL (9) in order to avoid permanently
turned on amplifier CLIP indicators (10, 12). They must at the maximum turn on at the rate of the lowest
frequencies.
- L+R switch (11). This switch placed on the front panel converts the amplified main output signal
into a monophonic signal. REC output is not affected.
The AMI2-70 allows to configure in bridge mode its outputs. Simply press L+R switch and connect
the outputs according to the back panel indication.
- Headphones: For best operation, they must be high impedance ones (200 to 600). Plug them to
the headphones output (14), located on the front control panel, by means of a standard stereo 1/4" jack
connector. Center ring is right, tip is left and back ring is ground.
Headphones output has its own dedicated "VOL" volume control (13).
- The AMI2-70/TR integrates a "MUTE" remote control (24) affecting all the inputs. It is especially
designed to connect fire detection or other safety systems. Internally configurable using a "NO/NC"
(normally open, normally closed) jumper. See set-up diagram.
- Remote control: The AMI2-70/TR has one screwable terminals per channel on its back panel to
remote control the volume, using the integrated "VCA" circuit.
The combined use of the rotating potentiometers located on the front panel along with remote
control VCA determines the final value of the signal attenuation for each input channel. Therefore, a
predetermined value of input signal level can be defined with the rotating potentiometers so that the VCA
remote control will not exceed this value and vice versa, that is to say both controls are in series.
This functionality can be useful in facilities where the volume adjustment is to be made by non-
expert users.
NOTE: a maximum of 16 inputs can be connected in parallel to a same control potentiometer. It is
essential to gather all the grounds together.
The connection cables can be as long as 500m using a 0,5mm
