Transmission status LED
This LED indicates any outgoing
transmission with a red light.
Function button
The correct functioning of the »alar-
mo« can be tested with the function
button. After pairing the
with at least one receiver (see page
14), the transmission and the trigge-
red event indication on the receiver
can be tested by pressing it.
Detection LED
This LED lights up when a sound has
been identified as an alarm.
Setup
1. Choosing the best position
The »alarmo« analyses the noises
within its environment for sounds ty-
pical of smoke detectors and similar
alarm systems.
In order to assist this function, »alar-
mo« should be placed as close as
possible to the sound source of the
alarm, which is to be monitored (e. g.
on a wall close to a smoke detector).
In order to gain the best possible
transmission range, please note the
following reccommendatios:
- The transmitter should not be
placed close to interference-emitting
devices such as TV sets, computer
screens and
»alarmo«
mobile phones.
- The transmitter should not be placed
on metal objects or surfaces due to
the radio-shielding effect of the
metal.
Note:
The device is not able of identifying,
recording or even transmitting voices
and spoken conversation.
Therefore there is no possible inva-
sion or endangerment of the user's
privacy.
2. Power supply
When using for the first time: Open the
battery compartment and remove the
battery stopper. Connect the power
supply with the according socket on
the underside of the »alarmo«.
Plug the power supply unit into a regu-
lar 230V mains electricity outlet.
3. Blackout-Backup
Please note that this device has been
designed to be primarily powered over
the power supply unit.
The rechargeable batteries serve only
as an emergency backup during po-
wer cuts.
The standby provided by the batteries
covers approx. 16 hours.
The batteries have a charging time of
approx. 12 hours.
