MITER SYSTEM

Using the Miter Detents
1. Loosen the miter-lock knob approximately
1/2 turn (Fig. 24).

Miter-Detent Override
The miter-detent override feature allows the
miter-detent action to be locked out to allow
for micro adjustments at any miter angle.
When the desired miter angle is too close to
a standard miter angle that has a detent slot,
this feature prevents the wedge on the miter-
detent lever from slipping into the detent slot
on the miter-detent plate.
Miter Cut
A miter cut is made at 0° bevel and any
miter angle in the range from 50° left to 60°
right.
Positive detents have been provided for fast
and accurate mitering at 0°, 15°, 22.5°, and
45° left and right, 50° left, and 60° right.
There is also a crown-molding detent at
31.6° (see Cutting Crown Molding for more
information).
For maximum support, the sliding fence
must always be as close to the blade as
possible without interfering with head
assembly (see ADJUSTMENT, Sliding
Fence, if necessary).
