The ID code of the remote control and the
remote control ID of this unit do not match.
Cause
The characteristics of FM stereo
broadcasts may cause this problem
when the transmitter is too far away or
the antenna input is poor.
There is multi-path interference.
The signal is too weak.
This unit has been disconnected for a
long period.
The signal is weak or the antenna
connections are loose.
Noise can result from lightning,
fluorescent lamps, motors, thermostats
and other electrical equipment.
A TV set is being used nearby.
Cause
Remedy
Check the antenna connections.
Try using a high-quality directional FM
antenna.
Use the manual tuning method.
Adjust the antenna position to eliminate multi-
path interference.
Use a high-quality directional FM antenna.

Preset the stations again.
Tighten the AM loop antenna connections and
orient the antenna for the best reception.

Use an outdoor antenna and a ground wire.
This will help somewhat, but it is difficult to
eliminate all noise.
Move this unit away from the TV set.
Remedy
The remote control will function within a maximum
range of 6 m (20 ft) and no more than 30 degrees off-
axis from the front panel.
Reposition this unit.
Replace all batteries.
Set the operation mode selector correctly.
When operating this unit, set it to the F AMP position.
When operating the component selected by the input
selector button, set it to the F SOURCE position.
When operating the TV set in the 4 DTV or
4 PHONO area, set it to the F TV position.
Set the remote control code correctly using "List of
remote control codes" at the end of this manual.
Try setting another code of the same manufacturer
using "List of remote control codes" at the end of this
manual.
Match the remote control ID of this unit with the
corresponding remote control ID code.
