Operating instructions
Corrugations (2,3)
of the seams and other stitching are caused by multiple layers of fabric and varying forces
created when the cover is extended or retracted. The tension created can cause waffle-
like or fish-boned corrugations.
Lengthening of sides (4)
Seams and stitching have a reinforcing effect but must also withstand great tension. When
the cover is extended, the seams and stitching lie over and against each other, which can
create pressure and tension. Seams and stitching may be pressed flat and thus extend in
length. This can mean that when the cover is extended, the side seams may droop slightly.
As a rule, this effect can occur in almost all awning covers to a greater or lesser degree. It
does not, however, affect their quality or usefulness.
Cristal awning cover product characteristics
Cristal is a transparent, water-repellent PVC resin-based fabric To prevent irritations we
would like to make you expressly aware of the following characteristics within the context
of clarification for the consumer:
Temperature changes
Temperature changes and excessive tightening of the cover can cause changes in the
material. These can lead to permanent deformations in the cover whereby wrinkles are
produced on the cover and, in extreme cases, the cord in the welding seam can rip.
Moreover, the zip could come out of the SIR guide. As such, use of the system at subzero
temperatures is prohibited.
Although Cristal undergoes the process of «thermal stabilisation» during the manufactur-
ing process, it is always possible for flaws or creases to occur. These flaws are caused
by the elasticity itself in conjunction with the winding on the roller shaft. These recurring
phenomena mostly occur during the winter and tend to disappear again during warmer
seasons.
Cover versions
Given the different composition of the materials in optional fabric versions such as win-
dow, strips or split covers, the combination of two cover types (e.g. Cristal and Soltis 86)
can lead to the formation of wrinkles, folds and imprints. For technical production reasons
on the ZS304 end profile we use the white ZS159 piping. Depending on the cover version
(colour) this can be seen as a light-coloured element.
Moisture and dullness
Should condensate be detected it is important to ensure correct ventilation. This means
the awning must be opened 3 to 4 times a day for at least five minutes at the permitted
temperature range. The main reason for the dullness of the Cristal fabric is moisture that
the fabric has absorbed during winding and when the system is closed.
Similar complaints, due to the aforementioned points, cannot be accepted and therefore
do not come under warranty.
We provide a two-year warranty for Cristal.
