Both indicator lights
If, at the end of the brewing cycle, the red
indicator light is flashing and the green light
is also (slow) flashing, the appliance must
be descaled as described in the section
'Descaling'.
During the descaling process, both indicator
lights are also active.
Pad holder
To prepare coffee, a pad must be placed
inside the pad holder. When positioning the
pad, take care to place it right in the centre
of the holder. This ensures that the pad's
paper rim is not caught underneath the seal
when the lid is closed. If a pad is not equally
thick on all sides, the pad should be inserted
with the thicker part facing down. Do not
use any pads other than the round soft
coffee-pads commercially available.
Do not fill the pad holder with ground
coffee.
Possible discolouring of the pad holder is
production-related, and is not in any way
detrimental to its quality or function.
Drip tray and drainer
Ensure that the drip tray and drainer are
correctly fitted before each use; however,
the drainer may be omitted to allow a tall
cup to be placed under the coffee outlet.
Drip tray
The drip tray can be removed by lifting it
up slightly and then pulling it out from the
front. To replace the tray, simply slide it
back into place.
Drainer:
The drainer can be placed either on the drip
tray or directly onto the base of the
appliance.
Choosing the amount of coffee per cup
The amount of coffee per cup can be
adjusted at any time. Proceed as follows:
- Start the brewing cycle.
- As soon as the coffee starts flowing into
the cup, keep the Start button pressed.
The green indicator light flashes.
- Once the desired amount of coffee has
been delivered, release the Start button.
The amount can be adjusted within a
range of 70 and 200 ml.
- The green light starts slow-flashing,
indicating that the pressure in the
system is being reduced.
- The desired amount of coffee per cup is
now programmed in for the following
cycles.
Coffee preparation
- Fill the water container up to its
maximum-level mark with fresh, clean
water.
- Insert the plug into a suitable wall
outlet.
- Place the pad right in the centre of the
pad holder.
- Push the locking ring up.
- Slide the loaded pad holder all the way
into the corresponding guide track on
the appliance.
- Push the locking ring down to close the
appliance properly.
- Place a cup of around 140 ml capacity
under the coffee outlet. (If the per-cup
amount has been changed, ensure that
the capacity of the cup used is sufficient
for the pre-programmed amount of
coffee.)
- Press the Start button. The brewing
cycle starts as indicated by the slow-
flashing green light.
- Once pre-heating is complete, the coffee
is released straight into the cup. After
brewing, always wait until the
subsequent pressure-release phase
(indicated by the slow-flashing green
light) has completely finished. The end
of the de-pressurisation cycle is
indicated by an acoustic signal.
- Remove the cup from below the coffee
outlet.
- Push the locking ring up.
- Caution: the pad holder and the coffee
pad itself are very hot after brewing; to
