Troubleshooting:
Fault
Abnormal noise dur-
ing operation
Direction of rotation
reversed
Material has difficul-
ties from falling out
of the rotary valve
Rotary valve will not
operate
Motor protection
switched off due to
overheating
Cause
Foreign object in the rotary valve.
Possibly worn rotor bearings
Connection of phases reversed
Worn out paddles.
Material collects in clumps (e.g. due to
moisture).
Material is not removed quickly enough
on the outlet side (too low blower ca-
pacity).
The material fall rate is too low.
Horizontal base (with diffusor plate) is
facing the wrong way in relation to flow
direction.
Material is being fed in too large a
quantity
Main switch disconnected.
Overload protection disabled due to
overheating.
Missing signal from plant management.
Fuses defect
Foreign object in the rotary valve.
Motor or gear defect.
Rotor deformed.
Motor protection incorrectly set.
Excessive drop in voltage supply.
Fuse defect
Remedy
Remove foreign object.
Replace bearings
Connect L1, L2 and L3 correct
Renew paddles.
Change composition of the material.
Decrease material quantity / increase blower
performance.
Increase fall speed.
Reverse the horizontal base.
Decrease material quantity
Turn on main switch.
Refer to "Motor protection switched off due to
overheating".
Check plant management
Find fault cause and replace fuse
Remove foreign object.
Replace gear motor.
Replace rotor.
Adjust correctly.
Replace supply cables to larger cross section.
Find fault cause and replace fuse
