Intended use
With appropriate accessories, the BMH 40 BASIC is
suitable for hammer drilling and chiselling in con-
crete, brick, stone and similar materials.
With appropriate accessories, the MH 5 BASIC is
suitable for chiselling in concrete, brick, stone and
similar materials.
Use only original Würth accessories. Any other use
or use beyond this scope is considered improper
use.
The user is liable for any damage in the
event of improper use.

Start-up

Prior to use, check that the specifications of your
mains power supply correspond to the mains
voltage and mains frequency indicated on the
name plate.

Always connect an upstream RCD

Any extension cables used must have

Extension cables must be suitable

machine (see technical data). If using
a cable reel, always fully unroll the
cable.
Attaching the bow or auxiliary
handle
Risk of severe injuries.
For safety reasons, use the supplied

bow handle [5] or the auxiliary
handle [1].
BMH 40 BASIC
Undo the clamping ring by anticlockwise rotation
of the auxiliary handle [1].
The auxiliary handle can be attached at the
desired angle.
Fully tighten the auxiliary handle.
MH 5 BASIC
Undo the clamping ring by anticlockwise rotation
of the clamping knob [4].
The bow handle [5] can be attached in the
desired position at the desired angle.
Fully tighten the clamping knob.
Operation
Adjusting the drilling depth stop
(BMH 40 BASIC only)
Undo wing bolt [2].
Adjust the drilling depth stop [3] to the desired
drilling depth.
Retighten the wing bolt [2].
