Select Execute.
The version upgrade starts.
The version upgrade is performed in five
steps called phase 1 to phase 5.
When the version upgrade starts, the
recording/tally lamp starts flashing and the
LCD monitor turns off.
The progress for each step is indicated by
the number of times that the recording/
tally lamp flashes. For example, the
recording/tally lamp flashes 3 times in
phase 3, and 5 times in phase 5.
The estimated time required is
approximately 20 minutes (the time will
vary depending on the combination of the
old and new upgrade versions).
When the version upgrade finishes, the
recording/tally lamp stops flashing and the
unit restarts.
[Note]
Even while the LCD monitor is off, processing is
still in progress. Do not turn off the power until the
estimated time has elapsed.
If the power is turned off, leave the SD card inserted,
unplug the power cable, reinsert it, and turn the
power back on. The version upgrade is resumed.
If the version upgrade operation is interrupted
or there is an error in the version upgrade data,
the recording/tally lamp will flash repeatedly at a
frequency of 1 Hz or 2 Hz.
Restart the unit, save the correct version upgrade
data on the SD card, and then perform the upgrade
procedure again from step 1.
If a black screen is displayed and remains
unchanged for about 15 minutes, turn off the
camera with the SD card inserted, unplug the power
cable, reinsert it, and turn the power back on.
If the version upgrade problem persists and the
upgrade is not successful, there may be a problem
with the unit. Contact a Sony service representative.

Check that the version has been updated
(see "Checking the Existing Version").
If the firmware has not been updated
to the latest version, check the version
upgrade procedure, and then perform the
upgrade procedure again from step 1.
