Connect the other end of the cable to the audio output of your external device.
Switch on your external device.
Switch on the sound system.

When signals are being transmitted via a cable, it is not possible to con-
trol all operating functions using the buttons on the sound system. In
this case, you have to rely on the controls on your external device.
