Weighted effective value of acceleration
REMS Mini-Cobra S 22 V VE
Weighted effective value of acceleration
The indicated weighted effective value of acceleration has been measured
against standard test procedures and can be used by way of comparison with
another device. The indicated weighted effective value of acceleration can also
be used as a preliminary evaluation of the exposure.
CAUTION
CAUTION
The indicated weighted effective value of acceleration can differ during opera-
tion from the indicated value, dependent on the manner in which the device is
used. Dependent upon the actual conditions of use (periodic duty) it may be
necessary to establish safety precautions for the protection of the operator.
2. Start-up
2.1. Electrical connection
WARNING
WARNING
Caution: Mains voltage present! Before connecting the drive unit, the rapid
charger or the power supply unit, check whether the voltage stated on the rating
plate corresponds to the mains voltage. On building sites, in a wet environment,
indoors and outdoors or under similar installation conditions, only operate the
power tool on the mains with a fault current protection switch (FI switch) which
interrupts the power supply as soon as the leakage current to earth exceeds
30 mA for 200 ms.
Batteries
Total discharging by undervoltage
The Li-Ion batteries may not drop below a minimum voltage because otherwise
the battery could be damaged by total discharge. The cells of the REMS Li-Ion
battery are delivered pre-charged to approx. 40 %. Therefore the Li-Ion batteries
must be charged before use and recharged regularly. Failure to observe this
regulation of the cell manufacturer can lead to damage to the Li-Ion battery by
total discharging.
Total discharging due to storage
If a relatively low charged Li-Ion battery is stored, self discharging can lead to
total discharge damage of the battery after longer storage. Li-Ion batteries must
therefore be charged before storing and recharged every six months at the
latest and charged again before use.
NOTICE
Charge Li-Ion batteries before use.
Only use approved REMS rapid chargers for charging REMS Li-Ion batteries.
New Li-Ion batteries and Li-Ion batteries which have not been used for a long
time only reach full capacity after several charges.
Rapid chargers
The left control lamp lights up and remains green when the mains plug is
plugged in. If a battery is inserted in the rapid charger, the green control lamp
fl ashes to indicate that the battery is charging. The green light stops fl ashing
and remains on to signal that the battery is fully charged. If the red control lamp
fl ashes, the battery is defective. If the red control lamp comes on and remains
on, this indicates that the temperature of the rapid charger and/or the battery
is outside the permissible operating range of the rapid charger of 0 °C to +40 °C.
NOTICE
The rapid chargers are not suitable for outdoor use.

Power supply
The power supply unit is for operating the power tools on the mains instead
of with the battery. The power supply unit is equipped with overvoltage and
temperature protection. The operating state is indicated by a LED. A lit LED
indicates that the device is ready for operation. If the LED goes out or fl ashes,
this indicates an overcurrent or impermissible temperature. The drive unit
cannot be used during this time. After a dwell time, the LED lights again and
work can be continued.
NOTICE
The power supply unit is not suitable for outdoor use.
2.2. Mounting the pipe cleaning spiral in the spiral drum (10)
(6.4 lb)
When a new pipe cleaning spiral is mounted, this must be bent approx. 45°
(0.9 lb)
about 50 mm before the rear end of the spiral and then pushed through the
(1.8 lb)
open chuck (5) / thrust gear (12) into the spiral drum so that the pipe cleaning
(2.4 lb)
spiral winds up in clockwise direction looking though the end opening of the
spiral drum (10). Push in the pipe cleaning spiral until the club head (6) protrudes
approx. 200 mm from the chuck (5) / thrust gear (12).

3.1. Operation REMS Mini-Cobra S
WARNING
WARNING
92 dB(A),
Wear a suitable guide glove!
CAUTION
CAUTION
Only operate the electric pipe cleaning machine with both hands, always hold
2.5 m/s²
the side handle with thrust control (1) and switch handle (2) tightly. Note reac-
tion torque of the drive unit on the spiral drum (10) when switching on and off!
Start the electric pipe cleaning machine preferably at low speed and increase
3.0 m/s²
slowly as required.
Pull out the pipe cleaning spiral Ø 8 mm, or Ø 10 mm, approx. 150 mm. For
pipe cleaning spiral Ø 8 mm. turn the adjusting wheel (11) to the stop, for the
pipe cleaning spiral Ø 10 mm until it hits meets a resistance and then turn it
further approximately one revolution. Set the direction of rotation switch (3) to
the arrow in the direction of the spiral drum (10). With the adjusting wheel on
the safety inching switch (4) the speed can be limited from the lowest stage A
to the highest stage F. Press the safety inching switch (4) lightly so that the spiral
drum (10) turns, then increase the speed slowly as required. Turn the side handle
with thrust control (Fig. 1 (1)) to the left to move the pipe cleaning spiral into the
pipe. If the pipe cleaning spiral hits an obstruction, the speed may have to be
reduced or the thrust direction reversed. After clearing the blockage, turn the
side handle with thrust control (Fig.1 (1)) to the right to withdraw the pipe cleaning
spiral from the pipe. The electric pipe cleaning machine must be switched off
about 200 mm before the club head (6) reaches the thrust gear (12). After
cleaning work, the adjusting wheel (11) must be released for transport and the
pipe cleaning spiral must be pushed back into the spiral drum (10) up to just
before the stop of the club head (6) on the thrust gear (12).
CAUTION
CAUTION
The pipe cleaning spiral can whiplash if the distance between the end of the
pipe/drain and the thrust gear (12) is too great (danger of injury)!
NOTICE
NOTICE
Only push the pipe cleaning spiral into the pipe to an extent that at least two
windings remain in the spiral drum (10) when cleaning. If the pipe cleaning
spiral is pushed further, the motor can no longer retract the spiral. The pipe
cleaning spiral then has to be pushed back into the spiral drum (10) about 2
windings by hand. Then the automatic return starts working again.
The club head (6) formed on the pipe cleaning spiral may never be allowed to
get into the thrust gear (12) because otherwise the pipe cleaning spiral will be
damaged.
