Remove the bottom cover about every
8 hours of operation with the included
multi-wrench, and then use a soft
brush to remove debris inside the
machine and on the cover (Fig. 30).
◾
Always clean out wood chips, saw
dust, and dirt from the guide bar
groove when replacing the saw
chain.
All chain saw service, other than the
items listed in these maintenance instructions, should be performed by competent
chain saw service personnel.
REPLACING THE BAR AND CHAIN
WARNING:
components are sharp and may contain burrs.
WARNING:
chain is very sharp; always wear protective gloves when performing maintenance to
the chain.
NOTICE:
When replacing the guide bar and chain, always use the specified bar and
chain combination listed in the chapter "Recommended Bar and Chain for This
Chain Saw".
1. Remove the battery and allow the
saw to cool. Make sure the oil-tank
cap is tight to prevent oil leakage.
2. Position the chain saw on its side on
a firm, flat surface, so that the side
cover is facing upwards (Fig. 31a).
3. Wear gloves. Remove the side
cover by turning the two lock nuts
counterclockwise with the included
multi-wrench. Clean the side cover with a dry cloth.
