▶ Apply appropriate safety measures at the opposite side of the workpiece in work that involves
breaking through. Pieces of debris could drop out and / or fall down and injure other persons.
▶ Make sure that the screws or bolts and the workpiece are suitable for the level of torque
generated by the power tool. Excessive torque may overstress or strip the screws /bolts or damage
the fastener/attachment, thus leading to hazardous situations or personal injury.
▶ Before beginning the work, check the hazard classification of the dust that will be produced. Use
an industrial vacuum cleaner with an officially approved protection classification in compliance
with locally applicable dust protection regulations.
Electrical safety
▶ Before beginning work, check the working area (e.g. using a metal detector) to ensure that no
concealed electric cables or gas and water pipes are present. External metal parts of the power tool
may become live, for example, when an electric cable is damaged accidentally. This presents a serious
risk of electric shock.
Workplace
▶ The work you are doing may cause flying fragments. Wear eye protection, protective gloves and, if
you are not using a dust removal system, wear light respiratory protection. Flying fragments present
a risk of injury to the eyes and body.
Personal safety
▶ The user and any other persons in the vicinity must wear suitable eye protection, a hard hat, ear
protection, protective gloves and breathing protection while the power tool is in use.
Careful handling and use of batteries
▶ Observe the special guidelines applicable to the transport, storage and use of Li-ion batteries.
▶ Do not expose batteries to high temperatures, direct sunlight or fire. There is a risk of explosion.
▶ Do not disassemble, squash or incinerate batteries and do not subject them to temperatures over
80°C (176°F). This presents a risk of fire, explosion or injury through contact with caustic substances.
▶ Never continue to use or attempt to charge damaged batteries, e.g. batteries with cracks, broken
parts, bent or pushed-in / pulled-out contacts).
▶ If the battery is too hot to touch it may be defective. In this case, place the power tool in a non-
flammable location, well away from flammable materials, where it can be kept under observation
and allowed to cool down. Contact Hilti Service after the battery has cooled down.

3.2 Intended use
The product described is a hand-held cordless impact screwdriver. It is designed for tightening and releasing
nuts, bolts and anchors and for driving wood screws. It is fitted with a chuck of the hex. socket type with
locking sleeve.
The product described should not be used for applications that require a precise torque. If the power
tool is used for applications that require a specific torque, or where a certain maximum torque must not
be exceeded, there is a risk of over-tightening and damage to the screw or workpiece. To prevent over-
tightening in these types of application, use a tool that allows specific preset torque settings to be made.
The product described is designed for professional use and may be operated, serviced and maintained only
by trained, authorized personnel. This personnel must be informed of any particular hazards that may be
encountered. The impact screwdriver and its ancillary equipment may present hazards when used incorrectly
by untrained personnel or when used not as directed.
▶ Do not use the battery as a power source for other unspecified appliances.
▶ Observe the national health and safety requirements.
▶ To reduce the risk of injury, use only genuine Hilti tools and accessories.
▶ To power the impact screwdriver, use a rechargeable battery of a type approved by Hilti and a charger
from the C4/36 series.
