CHAPTER 1
1.1 - INTRODUCTION
This booklet forms an integral and essential part of the product and must be delivered to the user. Carefully read the warnings con-
tained in the booklet as they provide important information on safety during installation, operation and maintenance. The booklet
should be kept carefully for future reference.
1.2 - GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS
The underground gearmotor for wing gates is produced in two models suitable for all types of wing gate.
The gearmotor is installed underground.
It is lubricated with fluid grease to minimise maintenance time.
The gearmotor is semi-sealed for problem-free underground operation.

SAFETY DEVICES

Refer to the section CHOICE OF SAFETY DEVICES
CAUTION
To ensure complete safety of the automation device, the gate structure must comply with current regulations and laws in addiction to the
regulations and laws in force in the country of installation.
CHAPTER 3
3.1 - CHECKS PRIOR TO INSTALLATION
For successful automation of a wing gate, the gate and its mechanical parts must satisfy certain construction and functional requirements, if these
are not observed, there may be problems with automation.
The main characteristic to be assessed is the sommothness of the gate hinge movement.
A good gate is one which can also be moved by hand; the requirements for ensuring smooth hinge movement for the whole of the working life of
the gate are given below.
Gate contruction: the gate structure must be rigid and straight.
Hinges: The hinges supporting the gate must be fitted correctly so that the gate is perfectly level and plumb with the axis of the gearmotor hou-
sing. If assembly is correct, the wing gate will remain in position (closed, open or in intermediate position) without closing or opening on
its own.
Gate stop: the gate must be provided with a mechanical closing and opening stop to prevent the wings overshooting their stroke.
