Maintenance
- Make sure that all welding equipment is turned
OFF and the torch has cooled down completely
before performing any inspection or maintenance.
- Do not fi x the torch directly on the bench vice. There
is risk of damaging its components. If it is necessary
to do so, it is recommended to disassemble the
handle and secure the base of the body.
- Replace the nozzle when it is worn. A nozzle with
irregular rims may cause turbulence in the gas and
porosity in the weld.
- Always replace the contact tip when it is loose or
when there is any type of deformation in its internal
diameter, thereby avoiding the electrical arc from
becoming unstable and reducing unnecessary
spatters.
- Clean the face of the torch's Euro Connector and
of the machine to ensure good electrical contact.
Always use a water-based degreaser. Do not use
solvents, thus avoiding deterioration and wearing
down the sealing rings.
- Verify the condition of the electrical isolation on
the cable, on the body, and other isolated parts.
The damaged parts must be replaced. Do not make
any provisionary repairs. Consult Sumig's catalog of
replacement parts.
