Installation position: Attach the suction cups and use them to fix the heater to a clean glass pane of the
aquarium. Make sure that there is enough water circulating around the heater to achieve even heat distribution.
Installation requirements: The heater can be installed vertically or horizontally. It must be completely
immersed in the water. The maximum immersion depth is one metre.
Immerse the heater in water before switching on the unit. Only plug the unit into the socket afterwards. The
socket must always be completely dry, water must never be allowed to run into it. As soon as the power is
switched on, the unit starts automatically. If the water temperature is below the setpoint set in the unit, the
indicator light on the housing lights up red, indicating that the heater is in operation and in heating mode. When
the temperature has reached the set temperature, the heater stops automatically and the indicator light lights
up green.
3. Maintenance
To achieve best results of the heater, it must be checked regularly.
Troubleshooting:
-
Temperature too low:
If the unit has been installed for 24 hours or more and the water temperature is still well below the required
temperature, the following procedure should be followed:
1. Monitor the water temperature with good quality and accurate thermometers to be sure.
2. Make sure that the unit is plugged in and switched on and that the voltage is as required.
3. Make sure the heater is fully immersed in the water.
4. Ensure that there is sufficient water circulation around the unit.
5. Make sure that the wattage of the heater is sufficient for the volume of water in the aquarium and that the
ambient temperature of the aquarium is not too low.
6. Make sure that there are no lime deposits on the housing; if necessary, unplug the unit to remove lime
deposits.
-
Temperature too high:
After the unit has been in use for 24 hours or more, please follow these steps.
1. To be safe, use high quality and accurate thermometers to monitor the water temperature.
2. If the heater light is red, switch off the heater immediately by unplugging it from the mains.
3. Check if too much water has evaporated. If this is the case, add water immediately until the heater is fully
immersed again.
