HITCHING PROCEDURE
CAUTION:
Failure to follow this instruction may result in the King Pin being too high and coming
to rest on top of the closed Jaw or not completely inside the jaw. This could result in
the trailer separating from the Hitch. Trailer separation may result in serious injury or
vehicle damage.
No one should be under the trailer during hitching maneuvers as trailer separation
may result in serious injury.
NOTICE:
The Head Jaw must be in the open position for the trailer's King Pin to enter the Hitch.
Remove the Bail Pin from the Handle. Pull the Handle straight out to the open
4.
position, then toward the rear of the vehicle to lock into place.
Using the trailer jacks or landing gear, adjust the trailer height as shown below
5.
THE BOTTOM OF THE TRAILER PIN BOX SHOULD BE ~1 IN (~25.4 mm) BELOW
THE TOP OF THE SKID PLATE RAMP.
During the hitching maneuvers, the bottom of the trailer pin box must be in
6.
contact with the Hitch skid plate ramp.
