TROUBLESHOOTING

WARNING: Before solving troubles, switch off the machine, pull out the mains plug, and wait until the machine stops
completely.
Trouble
The machine does not start.
There are cracking sounds
from the machine.
There are strange noise
from the machine.
The machine does not reach
its maximum power.
Poor result.

There are several types of cutting tool:
Scarifying blade - The sharp edge of a blade scarifies the ground and cuts roots.
Raking blade (optional accessory) - Removing the lawn and leaves by fine needles.
2 in 1 blade (optional accessory) - Raking and scarifying at the same time.
NOTICE:

Possible cause
Power supply is not plugged in.
Defect of power cord.
Defect of electrical circuit.
Lock-off button is not pressed.
Foreign matter is entangled in the
cutting tool.
Defect of drive belt
Power source has low voltage than it
required.
Air vents are clogged.
Grass is too high.
Cutting tool is worn out or damaged.
Scarified surface exceeds the machine
capacity.
Scarified depth is not correct.
Remedy
Connect the power supply.
Unplug immediately. Ask your local Makita authorized
service center to repair it.

Press the lock-off button and pull the start/stop lever.
Switch off the motor, unplug, and wait until the cutter tool
stops. And then remove the foreign matter.

Try another power source. Check whether appropriate
power source is deployed.
Clean the air vents.
Mow the grass before scarifying.
Replace it.
Only scarify a surface which is in accordance with
machine capacity.
Adjust the depth of the cutting tool.
