Chipper Chute (Model Series 460)
1.
Remove the three cupped washers (a) and hex
nuts (b) from weld studs around the opening
on the side of the impeller housing. See Figure
2-7.
2.
Remove the hex bolts (c), flat washers (d), and
lock nuts (e) from the two holes on the upper
end of the support brace. See Figure 2-7.

3.
Align the chipper chute over the weld studs,
so the slot in the bottom of the chute is facing
down. See Figure 2-8.

Secure chipper chute with the three cupped
washers (a) (cupped side against the chipper
chute) and hex nuts (b) removed in Step 1. See
Figure 2-8 inset. Do not tighten the nuts at this
time.
The chipper shredder was shipped with one end
of the support brace already secured to the lower
frame. Loosen but do not remove the bolts securing
the brace to the frame.
5.
Align the holes in the chute with the holes
in the top of the brace and attach brace to
chipper chute with hardware removed in
Step 2. The flat washers (d) should be placed
under the bolt heads (c) and against the inside
surface of the plastic chipper chute. See Figure
2-9A. Tighten lock nuts (e) securely.
6.
Tighten the bolts securing the support brace
to the frame. See Figure 2-9B.
7.
Tighten the three hex nuts (b) on the weld
studs holding the chipper chute to the
impeller housing.

1.
Place the opening of the bag completely over
the chute deflector. See Figure 2-10A.
2.
Pull on the drawstring until the bag is tight
around chute deflector opening. See Figure
2-10B.
3.
Clip drawstring back on itself, tight against
chute deflector to secure into position. See
Figure 2-10C.

Set-Up
Gas and Oil Fill-Up
Refer to the separate engine owner's manual for
additional engine information.
1.
Add oil provided before starting unit for the
first time out of the box.
2.
Service the engine with gasoline as instructed
in the separate engine owner's manual.
WARNING:
Use extreme care when
handling gasoline. Gasoline is
extremely flammable and the vapors
are explosive. Never fuel the machine
indoors or while the engine is hot or
running. Extinguish cigarettes, cigars,
pipes and other sources of ignition.
WARNING:
Never fill fuel tank
indoors with engine running or until the
engine has been allowed to cool for at
least two minutes after running.
