Connect the pond pump to the mains supply, plug the mains plug into the socket outlet.
The pond pump pumps the contaminated water into the filter through the UVC emitter
Check whether the hose is connected so that it is watertight.
Connect the UVC emitter to the mains supply, plug the mains plug into the socket outlet.
You can check the function of the UVC tube through a bluish light at the socket of the UVC emitter.
For this filter system we recommend continuous operation (24 hours a day), in the season months March to October.
Attention! The function of the filter system must be checked at regular intervals!
Initially the filter system should be checked at least 1x daily. Leaves, grass, and animal hair, for example can quickly clog
the filter sponges (34-36).
Consequently select the cleaning intervals based on the type and the extent of contamination in your pond.
6. Maintenance and care
Attention! Before performing any installation or maintenance tasks, disconnect the electrical devices immersed in the
pond from the power source by pulling the plug out of the socket outlet
Attention! If the supply cord of the UV-C emitter is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent
or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
The mains power connection of the pump cannot be replaced. In case the line is damaged, the device must be
scrapped.
6.1.
Cleaning of the pump
- Shut off the electric power supply before with the installation.
- Ensure that filter cap (16) of the pump is not blocked by leaves or dirt. Clean it in case of need.
- Pull off the inflow cover (19). Pull the rotor (17) out of the motor housing (14).
Make sure the O-ring (18) is inserted into the slot. Clean the rotor and motor housing with clear water and check
abrasion, by holding the shaft tightly and turn the rotor: The rotor should turn smoothly. Assemble the parts again in
reverse order and mount the components correctly.
Check if dirt or foreign residues got into the pump and clean it according to this instruction.
6.2.
Cleaning of the UV-C lamp and replacing the tube
In case of stronger accumulation of alga and calcification, the correct function of the UV C unit should be checked. UVC
tube (2) has a limited period of effectiveness (approx. 4000 to 5000 hours) and should be replaced at the latest after one
season (March to October). Appropriate replacement tubes are available at the service address specified below.
If the pond filter has been switched off for a longer period of time, ensure that the quartz glass cylinder that encloses the
UVC tube is clean.
If the filter has not been operated for a longer period of time, under some circumstances it may be necessary to replace
the sealing rings (particularly for the UVC emitter).
Cleaning of the UV-C lamp
1. Disconnect the UVC lamp (1-5) from the mains power and safeguard it from being switched on unintentionally
2. Comply with the safety measures.
3. Allow the water to completely run out of the unit.
4. Dismantle the UVC lamp according to assembly instruction in chapter 5.1 and take the lamp out of the compartment in
the filter housing.
5. Carefully take the lamp socket (1) out of the housing (5) and replace the UVC tube (2) if needed.
Cleaning of the quartz glass cylinder
1. After disassembling the lamp socket (1) and UV-C tube (2) take carefully the Quartz glass (3) out of the housing. You
may use a wide screw driver or a coin. Insert the tool into the recess, which is at the end of the thread of the protective
sleeve and lift it carefully out.
2. Clean the Quartz glass (3) and housing (5) thoroughly with water and a soft cloth.
3. If needed, remove calcifications from the Quartz glass (3) with a suitable solvents. Rinse out thoroughly before
reassembling.
4. If quartz glass tube or O-rings are defective they must always be replaced.
Assemble everything in reverse order.
While inserting the quartz glass into the protective housing (5), make sure the recess and groove engage exactly. Assure
the O-Ring (4) is exactly inserted in the groove of the quartz glass. Where necessary, grease O-rings (4) with Vaseline.
For installation of the lamp socket, the micro switch of the lamp socket (Fig. III, A) is correctly inserted in the groove of
the previously mounted quartz glass (Fig. III B). Otherwise without contact there is no function (see Fig. I).
Replacing the UVC tube:
1. Disconnect the UVC lamp (1-5) from the mains power for the maintenance.
2. Screw the socket (1) from the housing of the lamp. Remove the UV-C-tube (2) and replace the old tube with a new one.
Assemble all parts in reverse order and ensure the O-Ring is correctly inserted. Lubricate the O-Ring with some vaseline.
Caution! Do not touch UVC tube (2) directly with your hand; put on cotton gloves!
