3. Allow all the disinfected parts to dry in the
open.
Important: Water tank 3 does not have to be
separately disinfected. The cleaning procedure
with boiling water described above (see section
7.2 on page 9) is sufficient.
7.4 Descale
Regular thorough cleaning of the appliance after
each use in accordance with "7.2 Clean", but at
least once a week, will reduce the build-up of
limescale. However, limescale will start to build
up in the base of the appliance after some time.
Limescale can cause humidification performance
to deteriorate considerably.
Important on preventing limescale:
•
It is essential to use fresh and clean, ideally
boiled or distilled water every time you use
the appliance.
•
The water temperature should not exceed
20°C.
Important: The process outlined below is best
for mild limescale. If limescale is severe, you
should use a proprietary limescale remover.
Follow the manufacturer's instructions for the
limescale remover.
1. For descaling, mix 50ml of hot water with
50ml of household vinegar and pour into
base of the appliance 9.
2. Allow the solution to take effect for 30
minutes and pour away in the direction of
the arrow (Figure 9).
3. Then wipe out the appliance with a clean,
damp cloth.
4. Place the water tank upside down on a
level, dry and non-slip surface and screw it
on.
5. Mix a fresh solution of about 100ml hot
water and 100ml household vinegar (e.g.
table vinegar) and pour into the water tank.
6. Allow the solution to take effect for at least
4 hours, ideally overnight.
7. Empty the water tank.
8. Rinse out the water tank 2–3 times with
clean water.
7.5 Assemble
1. Put both parts of water level sensor 7, first
the float ring and then the locking washer,
into base of the appliance 9.
Important: The "TOP" marking on the
float ring must point upwards.
2. Screw up water tank 3 tightly and put on
base of the appliance 9 (Figure 1).
