16. TIG DC - TIG AC - TIG AC+DC - TIG AC XP
WELDING
This welding machine is suitable for welding using the TIG
DC procedure: stainless steel, iron, and copper, using the
TIG AC procedure: aluminium, magnesium and brass.
Connect the ground cable connector to the positive
pole (+) of the welding machine, and the terminal to the
workpiece as close as possible to the welding point,
making sure there is good electrical contact.
• Connect the power connector of the TIG torch to the
negative pole (-) of the welding machine.
• Connect the torch connector to connector F of the
welding machine.
• Connect the fitting of the torch gas hose to the E
machine connector and the gas hose coming from the
cylinder pressure regulator to the gas fitting H.
• Turn on the machine.
• Set the welding parameters as described in chapter 4.2
• Do not touch live electrical parts and output terminals
when the machine is powered.
• The inert gas flow must be set at a value (liters per
minute) approximately 6 times the electrode diameter.
• If gas-lens type accessories are used, the gas delivery
must be reduced by approximately 3 times the electrode
diameter.
• The ceramic nozzle diameter must be between 4 and 6
times the electrode diameter.
Normally, the gas most frequently used is ARGON because
it costs less than the other inert gases. However, ARGON
mixtures can also be used, with max. 2% HYDROGEN for
welding stainless steel and HELIUM or ARGON-HELIUM
mixtures for welding copper.
These mixtures increase the heat of the arc while
welding, but they are also much more costly. If HELIUM
gas is used, increase the liters per minute up to 10 times
the diameter of the electrode (e.g. diameter 1.6 x10= 16

17 REMOTE CONTROLS AND ACCESSORIES
la corrente.
The following remote controls may be connected to adjust
the welding current for this welding machine:
Art.1260 TIG torch button only (air-cooled)..
Art.1262 TIG torch UP/DOWN (air-cooled).
Art. 193 Pedal control (used in TIG welding).
Art 1192+Art 187 (used in MMA welding)
Art. 1180 Connector to connect torch and pedal control
at the same time. Art. 193 may be used in any TIG
welding mode with this accessory.
Controls that include a potentiometer adjust the welding
current from the minimum to the maximum current setting
by means of power source generator.
Controls with UP/DOWN logic control welding current
from the minimum to the maximum value.
Art. 1281.03 Accessory for electrode welding:
electrode holder (m. 5 - 16mm2), ground cable (3 m - 16
mm2), mask with glasses, chipping hammer and steel
brush.
Art. 1450 2 gauge flowmeter
Art. 1653 Power source carriage
