Using the follower
If you do not need the
follower, turn it clockwise
0
until it is in between the
maximum reading and zero.
To move the needle, turn
the knob in the centre of the
dial.
Depending on the activity, e.g. determining
loosening torque, dynamic torque auditing or
shear torque, it may not be practicable to read off
the dial while you are working. In such cases you
can use the follower at the end of the operation to
read off the maximum
torque applied. To do so,
0
turn the follower
counterclockwise to a point
between the minimum
reading and zero before
you apply the wrench to the
head of the bolt or nut.
Counterclockwise measurement (No 71/80)
In order to optimise accuracy, Manoskop
®
No 71/80 will only operate in one direction. This
direction is marked on the handle by an arrow.
To measure in a counterclockwise direction, turn
the Manoskop
No 71/80 over. Either keep your
®
eye on the scale or use the follower as described
above.
When measuring in a counterclockwise direction
the insert or shell tool must be rotated through
180° before being attached (unless you are using
the reversible ratchet and the Manoskop
®
No 71/80, see below).
