Read through the instructions before you begin to work.
Check that all parts are included in the package.
Items in illustrations in the instructions may differ from
the model being worked on. The illustrations are used
for different instructions and may therefore vary between
engine models. The essential information is correct.
Diagnostics and software downloads (SWDL) are per-
formed via the VMM's diagnostic connector.
Refer to Fig. 1 position 4.
This kit contains:

Important!
• Make sure that the main switch is off before work is
begun.
• Never install the VMM on the engine.
Location
• Install the VMM, clearly visible in the engine room. Make
sure that the diagnostic connector is easy to access.
• Install away from engine heat, seawater strainers and
magnetic fields.
• Place on a wall of the engine room and at least 0.1 m
(4") above the water line. Refer to Fig. 4.
• Install the VMM within the marked area; in front of and
by the left side of port engine. This is to ensure easy ac-
cess to the diagnostic connector and away from exces-
sive engine heat. Refer to Fig. 5.
• Mount vertical, allowing the cables to hang downwards.
Cable installation, general
• Keep cable runs as short as possible to reduce the
risk of a voltage drop and interference.
• Do not run cables with sharp bends.
Installation
1. Fasten the VMM and the diagnostic connector to the
bracket. Use 6 x M4 screws. Refer to Fig. 3.
2. Mark out the VMM's position.
3. Drill suitable holes for the M8 screws depending on
preferred option. Refer to Fig. 4.:
A: Mounted from front.
B: Mounted from back. Use M8 x (x+9 mm)(x+0.35")
4. Fasten the bracket to the engine room wall.

5. Connect the VMM to the AUX-bus (6).
Make sure to terminate the AUX bus at both ends (5).

Calibration and settings
6. Perform an auto configuration when the installation is
all set and powered up.
7. Connect to VODIA and run the Vessel Component
Report (VCR)

NOTICE! Maximum total length between the VMM and
the diagnose connector is 20 m (66 ft), using two 10 m
(33 ft) VMM diagnose extension cables.

commended installation.
