- Insert the plug (4) and turn clockwise until all parts are
secured.
- Position the earthing clamp onto the piece to be cut, ensuring
that it makes a good electric connection.
- Screw-tighten the coupling (1) on the pressure reducer (2).
- Connect the pipe (3) to the coupling (1).
- The pressure must be at least 5 bars with a flow rate of at least
165 litres per minute.
- Check that all the components of the torch are present and
correctly fitted.
- Switch on the system, ensuring the LED is working correctly.
- During pressure gauge adjustment operation make the gas
flows through the circuit depressing both the torch trigger or
the test gas button.
- Raise the reducer (2) adjustment knob (4).
- Rotate it until you read 5 bars on the pressure gauge.
- Set the value of the cutting current with the potentiometer,
keeping in mind the thickness to be dealt with.
- Grip the torch and pull the protection levers (5).
- Keep the torch at 90° on the piece.
- Press the torch button (6) and strike the arc.
- Position the torch near the piece and begin cutting, moving
forward steadily.
3 SYSTEM PRESENTATION
3.1 General
The Genesis 60/90 is a generator for plasma cutting ideal for
medium and light structural work.
The Genesis 60/90 uses compressed air as its only gas source,
which can be supplied from a normal compressor or from a suit-
ably sized centralized plant. It is able to carry out, cheaply, cuts of
a high quality up to a thickness of 22/35 mm in carbon steel.
The generator is robust, and all the operations are electroni-
cally controlled. There are safety systems that cut off the power
circuit when the operator comes into contact with live parts
of the machine, as well as protection devices that trigger if the
air flow is insufficient, or the internal temperature is too high.
The ignition of the cutting arc takes place with the use of a high
frequence voltage discharge, that is automatically cut off, thus
limiting the emission of radio interference during the rest of the
cutting process.
3.2 Front control panel
1
Power supply
Indicates that the equipment is connected to the mains
and is on.
2
Power on
Indicates the presence of voltage on the equipment
outlet connections.
3
Nozzle retaining cap protection alarm
Indicates any operation of the protection on the head
of the torch, which could be faulty or simply not prop-
erly screwed on.
