Governor Adjustment
When installing a new Governor Assembly, screw the Adjusting Nut onto the Stem to dimension "A" shown in Dwg. TPD497. This will usually
result in the proper governed free speed of the Spindle. However, this is only an approximate setting and, after checking with a tachometer,
further adjustment may be necessary. Screw the Nut farther onto the Stem to increase the speed; back it o to decrease the speed.
A=1–31/32" for Drills with Standard Throttle.
A = 1–7/8" for Motors equipped with Remote Control.
The correct governed free speed for the various Models at the Spindle is:
Models
22JA1–EU, 2XJA1–EU
22KA1–EU, 22KWA1–EU, 2XKA1–EU
22MA2–EU, 2XMA2–EU
22NA1–EU
Installation and Lubrication
Size air supply line to ensure tool's maximum operating pressure (PMAX) at tool inlet. Drain condensate from valve(s) at low point(s) of piping,
air lter and compressor tank daily. Install a properly sized Safety Air Fuse upstream of hose and use an anti-whip device across any hose
coupling without internal shut-o , to prevent hose whipping if a hose fails or coupling disconnects. See drawing 47113980 and table on page

Oiler Adjustment
To adjust oiler, remove the Backhead and turn the Oiler Adjusting Screws . Turning the Screws in (clockwise) reduces the oil ow. Backing
the Screws out increases the oil ow. The oil ow can be controlled by turning either Screw.
Parts and Maintenance
When the life of the tool has expired, it is recommended that the tool be disassembled, degreased and parts be separated by material so that
they can be recycled.
