Cleaning:
The machine must be carefully cleaned
after each use.
Do not use
aggressive cleaning
products. These products may damage
plastics and metals, compromising the
safe operation of the machine.
Maintenance:
Only maintenance works described in
this instruction manual may be carried
out; all other works must be performed
by an official distributor.
Keep all the nuts and screws well
tightened in order to ensure a safe
operation.
If any components or safety devices are
removed for maintenance works, they
must be repositioned immediately.
Use only VITO-approved tools for this
machine or technically identical parts.
Not doing so may result in personal
injuries or damages to the machine. In
case of doubt, you should contact an
official distributor.
2.6 - TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE
This machine must be repaired only by
the brand official technical service or
by qualified technicians and only with
original replacement parts.
3. ASSEMBLY
INSTRUCTIONS
3.1 - AUXILIARY HANDLE
ASSEMBLY (FIG.B)
The auxiliary handle (5) is assembled
from factory. However, before using,
it must be adjusted according to the
desired position.
The auxiliary handle's position can
be adjusted to ensure a safe working
posture with less possibility of tiredness
to its user.
1. Untighten the auxiliary handle fixing

screw (6) counter clockwise;
2. Rotate the handle and regulate
the auxiliary handle's fixing sprocket
according to the desired position;
3. Tighten the fixing screw, rotating
clockwise;
If it is necessary to remove the auxiliary
handle, follow these steps:
4. Place the auxiliary handle clamp into
the hammer;
5. Insert the handle's fixing sprocket
into the clamp's sprocket and insert the
fixing screw;
6. Adjust the auxiliary handle fixing
sprocket in accordance with the
desired position and tighten the fixing
screw clockwise;
3.2 - DRILLING ACCESSORY
ASSEMBLY AND
REPLACEMENT (FIG.C)
Never assembly or replace the drilling
accessory with the demolition hammer
running. Unplug the machine before
carrying any of these operations.
With the SDS-Max accessory holder
it is possible to replace the accessory
easily and without additional help.
1. Clean the drilling accessory (1) and
lightly grease with oil or lubricant the
fitting slot.
2. Insert the chisel through the dust
shield (2).
3. Make sure the accessory is well
tightened by pulling it out and checking
if it is locked.
4. To dismount the accessory, pull the
locking sleeve towards the auxiliary
handle and remove it.
4. OPERATING
INSTRUCTIONS
This demolition hammer was conceived
to perform drilling and chiselling works
on concrete, brick, stone and asphalt.
When operating this machine, the user
shall be cautious and follow some
operating procedures:
� Always operate the hammer with the
auxiliary handle assembled and hold
the equipment with both hands. Losing
the equipment's control might cause
serious injuries.
� Do not apply too much pressure
against the working object. If the
speed decreases abruptly, reduce the
pressure applied.
� When the drilling accessory blocks,
turn the machine off immediately;
� Never leave the hammer before the
chisel is completely immobilized.
� Wear ear protection when operating
demotion hammers. Exposure to noise
can cause hearing loss.
� Operate the hammer in a way the
power cable keeps behind the machine
while working.
Turn the equipment off immediately
when:
- There is formation of sparks and
smoke;
-
Lubricant
leaking
ventilation openings;
- Damages in the hammer housing.
- Damages in the "ON/OFF" switch;
- Appearance of smoke or characteristic
smell of burning;
