HANDLING, TRANSPORT AND STORAGE OF GRINDING WHEELS:
Grinding wheels are fragile as well as sensitive to impact and shock. Therefore particular
measures are necessary:
• Do not drop wheels and avoid sudden impacts.
• Do not use any wheels that have been dropped or damaged.
• Avoid vibrations or shocks during use.
• Avoid damages to the mounting hole.
• Avoid stresses on the grinding surface.
• Store the grinding wheels flat or vertically, dry, free of frost and at a constant medium
temperature.
• Store the grinding wheels in their original packaging or in special containers and on
special shelves.
INSTALLING OF THE SIDE HANDLE (SUPPLEMENTARY HANDLE)
Always firmly fix the side handle to the machine before start-up. The side handle can be firmly
installed optionally in one of the two positions on the side of the machine depending on which
position is best suited and which ensures correct positioning of the protective hood.
When using the machine to grind with two hands (with one hand on the operating handle and the
other on the side) hold it firmly and securely..
REPLACEMENT OF ABRASIVE DISCS
• Disconnect the mains plug before replacing the abrasive disc.
• Keep the locking button (1) pressed and loosen the tightening nut with the enclosed spanner.
• Remove the tightening nut and the abrasive disc from the tightening shaft.
• When inserting a new abrasive disk make sure that it is seated correctly on the tightening
flange.
• Retighten the tightening nut, making sure that the abrasive disc is not damaged
in this process.
• Before commencing work, try the machine and check to make sure that the disc
is rotating correctly.
BEFORE INITIAL OPERATION
• Mains voltage:Ensure that the mains voltage used corresponds to the information on the type
plate.
• Extension cable:If the work area is not close to the mains connection, an extension cable of
sufficient horizontal and rated output is to be used. The extension cable should be kept as short
as possible.
• Installing and setting of the protective hood:The protective hood is a protective device which
should prevent damage if the grinding wheels were to break during operation. It must be ensured
that the hood is properly attached and fastened before the grinding work starts. Thanks to
opening of the release lever, the protective hood can be turned and adjusted to every desired
angle. It must be ensured that the release lever is properly tightened after the adjustment of the
protective hood. The protective hood may only be rotated after the release lever is opened!
