Service and maintenance

Pull out the mains plug before start-
ing on any maintenance work!
5.1
Upkeep / repair
Upkeep
Regular upkeep consists of
a daily inspection
monthly maintenance
a major annual examination
The daily inspection consists of a visual check for
defects visible to the eye.
The monthly maintenance by a trained professional
includes a check of whether the device or parts of it
are damaged and determining if there are any leaks.
The major annual examination includes a check of
the function of the volume flow monitoring by a
trained professional.
Written records must be kept of the maintenance
tasks.
Repair
Repairs should be performed if necessary. Written
records must be kept of the repair tasks.
5.2
Care
If the vacuuming capacity of the dust extractor
decreases and cleaning out the filter 5 (Fig. 2 -
page 3) does not increase vacuuming capacity after
the paper filter bag 8 (Fig. 4 - page 3) is replaced,
the fold filter cartridges 5 (Fig. 2 - page 3) must be
replaced.
Generally it is sufficient to clean the fold filter car-
tridges 5 from time to time with a soft brush and
water. Allow it to dry before setting it back in place so
that dust does not remain trapped on the moist filter.
To avoid heavy soiling of the container and filter,
remove dry vacuuming material from the container
before vacuuming wet. Perform dry vacuuming only
with a device that is dry. Do not clean the container
and accessories with commonly available abrasive
cleaning agents.
For machines of class "M", clean the outside part of
the machine using vacuum cleaning procedures and
wipe off clean or treat with sealing material before
they are taken from the hazardous area. All machine
parts must be regarded as uncleaned if they are taken
out of a hazardous area. Scattering the dust must be
avoided through the use of suitable measures.
When performing maintenance and repair tasks, all
uncleaned objects that cannot be satisfactorily
cleaned must be disposed of. Objects such as these
must be placed in impermeable bags in accordance
with the valid requirements for eliminating such waste.
5.3

Motor protection filter

The motor protection filters 6 (Fig. 2 - page 3) are
located next to the fold filter cartridges. If they are
heavily soiled, wash them off and reinstall them
when they are dry. Damaged motor protection filters
must be replaced.
