Vehicle battery voltage
If the Power Start is connected to a vehicle and

the operating switch [3] is set to "0", then the ve-
hicle battery voltage is shown on the display [6].
If the Power Start is connected to a vehicle and

switched on, then the average voltage between
the vehicle battery and the internal battery of the
Power Start is shown on the display [6].
The battery charge state is displayed
most accurately when the Power Start
was disconnected from any external
devices and charging sources for several
hours.
Other functions
Connecting cable device/cigarette
lighter
The supplied connecting cable has two functions:
Use the device as a data memory when
you change the battery of your vehicle.

Connect the Power Start with the connection ca-
ble to the vehicle's cigarette lighter before you
remove the battery.
Note
In some vehicles, the ignition has to be
switched on to provide a current connec-
tion with the cigarette lighter.
Charge the Power Start via the ciga-
rette lighter.
Attention!
This function is only available for WPS 12-900!

Connect the Power Start with the cigarette lighter.
Note
This function is especially intended for
service vehicles that are in use often.

Indicator to determine the on-board
voltage (only for WPS 1224-900)

Set the operating switch [3] to the "0" position.
▸
Connect the battery terminals [9] with the plus
and negative terminal of the vehicle battery.
The vehicle battery voltage is shown on the

display [6].
When the displayed value is larger than 15 V, then
an on-board voltage of 24 V is present.
When the value is smaller than 15V, checking the
on-board voltage according to the manufacturer
information is required.
Replacing the fuse

Switch the device off before

changing a fuse.
Disconnect the device from other
¾
devices.

Switch off the device using the operating
switch [3].
▸
Disconnect the device from all other devices.
▸
Let the fuse cool down completely (about 5 min-
utes).
▸
To access the fuse, remove the plastic cover of the
positive (red) terminal by the handle.
▸
Loosen the two nuts and the bolts with which the
fuse is attached.
▸
Remove the old fuse and insert a fuse of the same
type (see Technical Specifications).
▸
Attach the fuse with the two nuts and bolts.
▸
Attach the cover again on the fuse-holder.
