16. Troubleshooting

The following table shows fault symptoms and describes remedial measures in the event of your machine failing to
work properly. If you cannot localise and rectify the problem with this, please contact your service workshop.

The hydraulic pump does
not start
The column does not
move downwards
Engine (400V) starts, but
the column does not move

Maintenance and repairs
All maintenance tasks must be performed by qualified personnel in strict observance of the present usage instruc-
tions. Before any maintenance measure, one must take all possible precautionary measures, switch off the engine
and disconnect the power supply (if necessary, unplug it). Attach a sign to the machine that explains the failure
situation: "Machine out of order for maintenance: It is prohibited for unauthorised persons to be at the machine and
to start it up."

Voltage absent
The thermal switch of the
motor has switched off
Low oil level
One of the levers is not
connected
Dirt on the rails
Wrong direction of rotation
of the motor with three-
phase current
If the temperature is too
low, the starting current
is too high, the circuit
breaker has tripped

Remedy
Check whether the lines
have power supply
Turn the thermal switch
inside the motor housing
back on
Check the oil level and top
up
Check the fastening of the
levers
Clean the column
Check and change the di-
rection of rotation of the
engine
The temperature for
starting the motor should
be 5°C - 10°C.
Use a 16A slow-blow cir-
cuit breaker at the mains
power connection.
