Defrosting the freezer
Note: Care should be taken when performing the procedure
below.
- The device does not contain frost. Defrosting of the freezer is not
necessary. However, in the unlikely event that defrosting the unit
is required, please follow the steps below:
- Try to use as much food stored in the freezer as possible before
defrosting.
- However, for any leftover foods, wrap them in newspaper and
keep them separate until you can put them back in the freezer,
after you've cleaned it.
- Switch off the appliance by unplugging the power plug from the
mains socket.
- Open the freezer door.
- Place a suitable container to collect the water from the melted
frost.
- After defrosting, clean and dry the inside of the freezer.
- Switch on the appliance and store any frozen food in it.
Defrosting can be speeded up by putting bowls of hot (not boiling)
water in the freezer and removing the frost using a suitable plastic
scraper.
Noise emission from your device
You may notice some rather unusual noises. These noises are
caused by the circulation of refrigerant in the cooling system. This
phenomenon has been accentuated since the introduction of
gases without CFCs. This is not an anomaly, and it does not
affect the performance of your refrigerator.
