waveform is automatically traced using Mean, Time Averaged Mean (TAM) is displayed and VTI is not
displayed.
WARNING:
Trace only a single heartbeat. The VTI calculation is not valid if measured with more
than one heartbeat.
WARNING:
Diagnostic conclusions about blood flow based on VTI alone can lead to improper
treatment. Accurate blood flow volume calculations require both the vessel area and
velocity of blood flow. In addition, accurate blood flow velocity is dependent on a
correct Doppler angle of incidence.
To perform an Arterial calculation
The
Save Set
button is no longer needed and has been removed. Use the revised procedure below:
1 On a frozen Doppler spectral trace, tap

2 Do the following for each measurement you want to take:
a Select the calculation list that contains the measurement name.
If the calculation list is not visible, tap
b Drag the caliper to the peak systolic waveform.

If peak systolic is the only measurement you want to take, proceed to step 2e. To measure the
end diastole point, tap
d Drag the second caliper to the end diastole point on the waveform.
e To save the measurements, tap
