5.1 MOUNTING
The Flojet M50 pump is self-priming
and should be mounted in a dry and
well-ventilated area. This pump should
be located within 8 ft (2.44 m) of the
bag-in-box and mounted vertically. May
be mounted above or below the bag.
Note: This is not a submersible pump.
Secure the pump utilizing appropriate screw sizes through the
slotted mounting holes (two) on the rear of the pump body. Pump
should be mounted vertically with the ports horizontal.
5.2 HOSE CONNECTIONS
Liquid In – Use 3/8" (9.5 mm) ID vinyl or tygon beverage hose or
equivalent. Avoid sharp bends that could restrict flow or cause hose
to collapse under vacuum.
Liquid Out – Use 1/4" (6.3 mm) ID reinforced beverage hose for
discharge tubing.
5.3 PLUMBING
Use a flexible hose to avoid excess stress on pump fittings. Do not
crimp or kink hose.
All hoses should be the same size as the pump fittings. All fittings
and hoses must be compatible with fluid being pumped.

6.0 Troubleshooting
Symptom
Pump will not start (stalls)
Pump runs, but no fluid
Pump leaks through
exhaust port
Flow rate is low
Pump leaks
7.0 Pump cleaning / sanitizing
The pump and the complete dispensing system should be cleaned and sanitized regularly as recommended by the local health authority,
syrup concentrate manufacturer, or equipment manufacturer (whichever has jurisdiction). Refer to Process Specification #91013934 for
procedure that meets the NSF listed sanitizing requirements for the Flojet pump only.

Rigid pipe
Possible Cause(s)
1. Inadequate air supply (20 PSI Min)
2. Contaminated air supply
3. Empty BIB or BIB connector not fully engaged
4. Pinched product inlet/outlet tubing
1. A leak or break in the product inlet line
2. A leak or break in the product discharge line
1. Leak at upper exhaust port o-ring
2. Contaminated air supply (moisture in air inlet)
1. Tubing or hose is damaged or blocked
2. Check viscosity or medium being pumped
1. Pump housing screws not torqued
adequately
5.4 OPERATION
DANGER: ASPHYXIATION HAZARD.
If CO
or N

the area is well ventilated or gas is exhausted to out-
side atmosphere via hose.
CAUTION: If pump is to be used in high flow, low
pressure applications, adjust gas pressure to 20 PSI
(1.38 Bar) above discharge pressure.
CAUTION: Continuous operation at 120°F (49°C)
will reduce pump life.
To start operation, regulate gas pressure to desired setting. For
most installation 20 to 70 PSI (1.38 to 4.83 Bar) will be adequate.
Open discharge valve to purge air from the system. Pump will
now operate automatically by starting and stopping on demand,
as beverages are served and maintaining constant pressure at
the dispensing valve. Product flow and pressure can be adjusted
by increasing or decreasing gas pressure to accommodate varying
product viscosities, length of lines or other installation conditions.
Do not exceed 70 PSI (4.8 Bar) gas pressure.
Review flow curves for more information. High viscosity fluids and
hose length will limit priming distance.
NOTICE: Removing the yellow clip will disengage the air in-
let fitting and remove the driving pressure to the pump. This
should be done only if there is a need to immediately shut-
down the pump until a qualified service technician arrives.
Pumps that fail due to water in the air chamber will not be covered
under the limited warranty.

Corrective Action

1. Increase air inlet pressure
2. An air dryer might be required
3. Check BIB product and proper connection of BIB connector
4. Check product tubing for kinks or other potential flow restriction
1. Check or replace all connections on inlet line
2. Check or replace all connections on discharge line
1. Replace exhaust port
2. An air dryer might be required
1. Clean or replace
2. Reduce viscosity of medium, increase
hose diameter or contact factory for
recommendation
1. Torque screws to 15 in lb
4
gas is used to drive the pump make sure
