Edge cutting function I
The edge cutting function enables precise and easy
cutting along the lawn edge.
Fold the plant protection bow upwards until it

Press button 2 and simultaneously turn the head

of the lawn trimmer through 90° 3 .
3 The head of the lawn trimmer engages audibly.
Note
For normal trimming, fold the plant protec-
tion bow downwards again until it engages.

Inserting the power pack J
Incorrect handling of the power pack and
the charger
ÂRisk of injuries and material damage
¾ Read and observe the operating instruc-
tions of the power pack and the charger.
The 2-stage latching mechanism is used to set oper-
ating or transport mode of the power pack.
Push the power pack into the power pack com-

partment until it engages into the desired position

3 The power pack is in transport mode.
• The electric contacts are open to prevent the
power pack from self-discharging during stor-
age.
Position 2 2
3 The power pack is in operating mode.
• The electrical contacts are closed and the de-
vice is ready for use.
Switching the device on K
Risk of injuries or material damage.
¾ Always hold on to the device with both
hands during operation. One hand en-
closes the handle, the other hand holds
the middle handle.
Put on carrying belt for use.

Press the lock-on switch on the handle 1 .

Simultaneously press the on-off switch on the

handle 2 .

Press the eco button 4 .

3 The speed of the line box decreases. The lamp on
the eco button goes green.
Note
Eco mode extends device running time by
about 50%. Eco mode remains active after
switching the device off and on. To switch
eco mode off, the eco button must be
pressed again so that the device can work in
normal mode (fast line box speed).

Release the on/off switch to switch the device

Note
The cutting tool continues to run for a brief
period after being switched off.
Adjusting the line
Automatic
With each switching off and on the line is adjusted
out of the line cassette.
Note
Frequently switching on and off without
reason results in increased line wear.
Note
If the cutting line becomes too short during
operation due to wear, switch the device off
and then back on again to extend the
working length of the cutting line automati-
cally.

Risk of injuries due to the cutting tool.
¾ Only adjust the device with the motor
switched off and the cutting tool at a
standstill.
¾ Do not reach into the area of the rotating
line or the line cutter.
¾ Always remove the power pack prior to
working on the device.
